Our Process

1- Initial Meeting

This is an opportunity for our team to gain a greater understanding of your vision for your remodel or new home construction. We approach this meeting ready to listen and prepared to offer you guidance to move your project forward.

The plans and specifications are then released to our qualified subcontractors. In addition, we typically hold a site visit, which gives our subcontractors a comprehensive package to develop their bid. We then compile all the bids into a single document that will give you a clear understanding of the cost of your new home construction or remodel.

Here is where we build out your vision. With you and your selected architect/designer, we develop the plans and specifications for the project, which then will be used for bidding. Detailed plans, comprehensive specifications, and a good design allow for accurate cost estimation and a headache free project.

Andy is on the jobsite daily. They keep a constant stream of communication between our client, architect, and designer. Doing so ensures the project is on schedule and on budget. It is our goal to provide our clients with an excellent and enjoyable building experience.

  • What fun this experience with Michels was! We tore down a house, put a new one up, dealt with all the area restrictions, took out a pool, put in a pool and re-landscaped after new septic system.   • 40 years ago, Bob Michels built the house we still live in today. Throughout the years we made some updates to the house (e.g., wood floor in the kitchen/entry way, granite countertops) to keep it more modern. Every time we have hired someone they’ve commented on the outstanding quality of the construction of our house. We still have the original Anderson windows that were installed when built!!! The woodwork looks as good today as when we built 40 years ago. I would strongly recommend Michels Construction to anyone looking to build a new home. I am an extremely 40-year satisfied customer. How many people will say that about a builder after that long!!

Andy met the adjuster from Chubb out there a few days later and within a week I had a check in hand from Chubb and few days later Michels Homes was installing a new roof.
